Waltham Forest Fashion is a vibrant and inclusive network of pioneering Fashion creatives working in partnership with Fashion District, a key initiative of London College of Fashion who nurture fashion talent, create new green jobs and drive economic and social transformation in East London.
What We Offer
Waltham Forest has a rich history of manufacturing and craft, and is home to many designers, manufacturers and content creators, many with close industry connections, so is perfectly positioned to bring together an exciting innovative fashion and textile economy. The network holds regular networking events, provides essential resources and guidance to thrive in a competitive market, and through strategic partnerships and community engagement, the project fosters borough-wide collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
Our Aim
One of the project's pivotal goals is to drive sustainable growth within the industry. By supporting local fashion and textile’s sustainability initiatives, the project contributes to a decreased impact on the sector's environmental footprint, aligning with the borough's ambitious aims to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2030.
Kala lampshade Workshop - Creative Haven
Kala Paul-Worika's success with By Kala X showcases the support of Waltham Forest Fashion Network and Leyton Green Studios. Inspired by Nigerian heritage, Kala's brand flourishes, blending multicultural influences. Through workshops and pop-ups, Kala connects with her community, emphasising sustainability and creativity. Or Collective Sustainable Kids' Fashion
Or Collective leads Waltham Forest in sustainable fashion with its innovative childrenswear rental service. By partnering with eco-friendly brands and managing all aspects in-house, they reduce carbon emissions and extend garment lifespan. Kim Gladwyn - Grants Empower Success
Kim Gladwyn, of Vintage Akimbo Finds, found crucial support through Waltham Forest Fashion Network during Covid, receiving two grants and joining the Forge Fashion program. Monique Thomas - Networking Sparks Success
Monique Thomas, a Leyton-based designer, found her breakthrough at a Fashion District networking event where she met Janna from Pavement Store.
